| Acknowledgements The RCM is grateful to Alicja Knast for the extensive research and measuring which were undertaken for this catalogue. We would also like to acknowledge those who have studied the bows on earlier occasions and offered their thoughts or given advice, including Charles Beare, Christopher Nobbs, Jennifer Ward-Clarke and the former Curator of the RCM Museum, Elizabeth Wells. Photographs were taken by Paul Collen and the web pages designed and constructed by Andrew Earis, Paul Banks and Jenny Nex. It was originally planned that a catalogue of bows would form part of the printed Catalogue Part III: European Stringed Instruments by Elizabeth Wells and Christopher Nobbs. The Museum is grateful to the AHRC for their support for the preparation of this volume through the Project Fund scheme for university museums, galleries, and collections. However, it became apparent that the nature and size of the collection meant that a separate online catalogue of bows would be more practical; the two catalogues were published simultaneously in June 2007. | ||
