Description

Method of hair tightening: screw mechanism, frog with ferrule

 

Stick: made of meatwood with black stripes/lines; cross section round, octagonal for at least the 65mm beyond metal wire and black leather padding; the end of the stick is reinforced by a new silver ring

Head: facing: ivory also embracing the tip: trapezoid plane; plug semi-circle shape

Frog: made of ebony with mother-of-pearl inlay on both sides depicting leaves and acorns; trapezoid plane with c-shape undercut; rear corner perpendicular; brass ferrule; mother-of-pearl slide; silver backplate; screw cap is octagonal in cross section, inlaid with 8 small mother-of-pearl panels, one on each face, with ebony edging; tip of the cap has a mother-of-pearl eye within an ebony ring; screw made of iron (rust); eyelet of brass
