Relocation of the Centre for Performance History

Colour photograph of College Hall main entrance, by Paul CollenDuring 2008 a new facility providing collection storage space, reader facilities and office space was created for the Centre for Performance History at College Hall, the site of the RCM's Hall of Residence in London W12. This offers improved access to researchers and provides the collection with a secure and stable environment, all in one place.

The constituent parts of the CPH collection that have moved are

  • All the paper-based materials and most of the iconographic materials from the PPHC (click here for a list)
  • Some musical instruments not displayed at the Museum of Instruments

Those parts that are not moving are

  • The Museum of Instruments
  • Works of art on display at the Royal College of Music

The CPH Research Centre at Shepherd's Bush is open to RCM students and staff and members of the public by prior appointment. For details of research access to the CPH collections, click here.
