| The 8-bar theme, headed "Thème de l'apothéose de la Symphonie funebre et triomphale H. Berlioz. It was probably written for Madame Friedland in Prague or Breslau in 1846 (see. Memoirs LIV), the wife of a German musician who later raised some money for Berlioz after the disasterous Paris performance of Le damnation de Faust in November 1846.
