If we move west out of London to Hereford we find a similar programme where the symphony is in the same spot, but with even greater variety ('miscellany') of genres surrounding it:

Note the British vocal works by Glover, Goss, Chorley, Hatton, and Sterndale Bennett: concerts for the middle-class public usually had a lot more British music than those for the élite public in London. Only the Schubert song came from the Austro-German classics.
