The basis of this project was a comprehensive listing of all operatic performances mounted by the Royal College of music in the period 1884-2000 prepared by Andrew Page of the Benjamin Britten International Opera School. In December 2001 the prototype database was created by Paul Banks, and since then a small number of records (chiefly covering the period 1884-1900) have been entered. It is hoped that in due course online access can be provided, but in the meantime the database may be consulted at the RCM by arrangement with Paul Banks.
