Preface

This exhibition, drawing on material from the collections of the Royal College of Music Library and the Centre for Performance History, was conceived and designed by Angela Escott, with the assistance of colleagues from the Library and the CPH, and coincided with the Music in 18th-century Britain Study Day, held at the Royal College of Music on 26 November 2004.
